There’s something truly special about being invited into someone’s home to capture their growing family. Last week, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful young family in Stamford, CT, celebrating their newest arrival—a bright-eyed, snuggly newborn boy who completely stole the show.
We chose to do the session at their home, which gave everything a natural, cozy, and intimate feeling. From the very first click, it felt effortless. The parents were warm and relaxed, and the baby? An absolute dream to photograph.
To make the session smooth and efficient, I guided them through a series of natural poses—gentle cuddles on the couch, mom rocking her son near the nursery window with soft morning light pouring in, and dad cradling him while beaming with quiet pride. One of my favorite shots was the entire family curled up on the bed, laughing between takes—it was a reminder that love is best captured in the candid.
Throughout the shoot, I focused on letting their story unfold. The baby’s yawn. The way mom instinctively reached for his hand. The quiet glances between parents that said, “We still can’t believe he’s ours.”
They were absolutely thrilled with the results. The gallery was turned around quickly, and their words still sit with me:
“You made it so easy, and we love every single photo—it’s like you captured our hearts on camera.”
